Call out for resources

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve changed my style drastically again. This will probably continue until I’m at least 90% satisfied with it, which I project will occur in 2 to 3 years… maybe… perhaps…You see, I am ever vigilant in searching for new techniques to improve my art and better ways to deliver comical material. I know I’m not perfect but I am working hard to better myself. If anyone has any links they would like to share that would be of use to me and my endeavor for perfection, I’m all for it. Just post the helpful link in the comments and I will be eternally grateful. No sarcastic links…. unless they’re really funny >_>.

I cut myself to know that I sparkle.

comic_06

This is somewhat based off of a conversation I had with my little sister. Before I knew that she was reading the series, Twilight had been (and still is) the butt of many jokes in my circles because when I grew up vampires were terrifying, soul-less minions of Satan who easily enchanted their prey in order to suck out every last drop of their hapless victim’s blood (lol, Maxwell House commercial popped into my head). They burst into flames in the sunlight, not sparkle. Twilight’s breed of vampires could hardly be called “vampires”. The thought of having the main character be an emo, misunderstood “vampire” who just wanted to be loved by someone was pretty sickening as well.

Here’s a link making fun of the book.

When I saw the book laying around the house, I was devastated and demanded to know whose book it was. The comic picks up the story from there.

>_> Lately I’ve been having a hard time watching Skip Beat with a straight face. That is sparklingest anime evar, second only to Earl and Fairy,  and I never really paid that much attention to the sparkles, but now I realize it happens two-three times a scene.

The American Akira

"...and the prom's tomorrow!"

Every anime fan needs to see the youtube video called The American Akira (2011). It reminds me of why I watch anime in the first place. This is a satire of a REAL movie that is in production right now. For those who have IMDB pro click here and for those who don’t, you’re out of luck. I looked around for more information but nothing came up. If someone has a link with more details please post it.
